08/10/2007MemorandaRecognition• Mark McLane and Keith Wright of Wright & Associates Insurance Group Inc. of Traverse City were recognized by the National Association of Health Underwriters for professional excellence in the sale of health and disability income insurance. McLane received the association's "President's Council” award, while Wright earned the "Management/Eagle's Club” honor. • Skilled Manufacturing Inc. of Traverse City received renewal of its "Clean Corporate Citizen” designation from the state Department of Environmental Quality for environmental measures taken at the company. The company reduced maintenance repair costs by more than 15 percent through recycling and other environmentally friendly operations. Publications• Macy's North is launching "M,” a free quarterly magazine highlighting clothing and home accessory trends. It will debut in September at Macy's North stores in the Midwest and be mailed to 500,000 store customers. • A special issue of the Whisper in the Woods nature journal was distributed to attendees of the 2007 National Governors Association summer meeting held in July in Traverse City. It featured images of nature scenes in Michigan taken over the past five years by some of the top professional and amateur photographers in the state. The journal is published by Kimberli Bindschatel.
