08/14/2007MemorandaPersonnel file The Traverse City Record-Eagle recently appointed Tom Wyatt, former advertising sales consultant, to the position of retail advertising manager. Wyatt, who has worked for the Record-Eagle for five years, will manage the retail sales efforts after growing the real estate business for the newspaper by an average of 15 percent annually. Wyatt also had a hand in developing new publications to satisfy the needs of the newspaper's real estate segment. Cynthia Clark, former advertising sales consultant for the downtown Traverse City territory, is filling the vacancy created by Wyatt's promotion. After spending seven years in the downtown territory, Clark will now be responsible for real estate advertising in Traverse City and areas south of Grand Traverse County. Marci Lansbach, a new hire for the Record-Eagle, will handle real estate advertising in Traverse City and areas north of Grand Traverse County. Sales representative Ginny Thomas will maintain her existing clients while taking on a leadership role in the department with her promotion to senior media consultant. Sherry Tucker and Kathy Shimunek also have joined the Record-Eagle's retail advertising sales team. Tucker is responsible for the downtown Traverse City territory while Shimunek represents businesses in Antrim, Kalkaska, Otsego and Crawford counties. Event The Benzie County Chamber of Commerce will host its Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Crystal Lake Golf Course in Beulah. Donation is $5. The Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Elk Lake Floral, 8628 Carin Highway.
