Dr. Robert L. Balestrero has joined Mercy Hospital Grayling as an in-house radiologist.

Balestrero has 20 years of medical experience, most recently as a staff radiologist at Nason Hospital in Pennsylvania. He also has served as director of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center and at the former Burns Clinic Medical Center in Petoskey. The addition of Dr. Balestrero will allow Mercy's radiology department to enhance the scheduling of patient testing.

Traverse City-based neurologist Dr. Cornelius Robens plans to begin seeing patients at the Mercy Specialty Services Building in Grayling the first Thursday of each month, beginning Sept. 6.

Robens joins a list of 20 physician specialists who travel to the Grayling area to offer specialty services to patients.

Robens specializes in the treatment of Alzheimer's, dementia, dystonia, Huntington's Disease, movement disorders, Parkinson's Disease and Tourette Syndrome.

Registered Dental Hygienist Patti Ulrich, a dental supervisor for Northwest Michigan Community Health Agency in Charlevoix, has been named secretary of the Michigan Oral Health Coalition, a statewide partnership with a mission to improve oral health in Michigan by focusing on prevention.
