Personnel file

• Andrea Pease recently joined mBank as branch manager and treasury management officer.

Pease is responsible for maintaining the daily functions of the mBank branch in Traverse City and will focus is generating new business-related deposit accounts throughout the northern Lower Peninsula. In addition, she is responsible for consumer loan and deposit growth for the branch.

• Jim Donaldson has joined the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce's Traverse Bay Economic Development Corporation as director of Business and Community Development. Previously, Donaldson was vice president, Business Development Group for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. He will oversee the implementation of economic development plans, programs and services for the four-county region.

Associations

• Business Before Sunrise, a Traverse City Business Network International Chapter, recently elected new officers. They are: Liz Sayre-King of Professional Solutions Plus, president; Gary Allen Gardner of Rosi & Gardner, P.C., vice president; and Suzette Corbit of Arbonne International, as secretary-treasurer.

Officers serve a six-month term. The chapter has open classifications for commercial banker, graphic artist, plumber, health insurance agent and sign company. Interested individuals should contact Sayre-King at 935-0411.

Event

• The Benzie County Chamber of Commerce will conduct its monthly After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. July 19 at the offices of Communication Solutions, Orkin Pest Control, and EXIT Dave Reitan Realty, 137 S. Benzie Blvd. in Beulah. Donation $5.

Expansion

• The Cherry Stop store at 211 E. Front St. in Traverse City recently opened the Hard Pit Cafe. The cafe offers an old-fashioned soda fountain ambiance and serves desserts, cherry vanilla creme soda, cherry pie and everything cherry.

New business

• Giovanni's Roadhouse has opened on U.S. 31 in Interlochen and is the newest addition to the family of food businesses that includes 310, Bubba's and Grandview catering. General manager Jason Wilson and chef Chris Howard are offering a range of tastes in the $5 - $15 price range. The culinary focus is on pizzas and entrees ranging from ahi tuna to prime rib. Bar manager John Waslawski will offer a selection of wines, beers and specialty cocktails. Giovanni's Roadhouse is open seven days a week.
