07/27/2007MemorandaSeminars Plante & Moran will be offering two seminars in northern Michigan to help owners and managers better understand the effects of the new Michigan Business Tax on their businesses. The free, two-hour seminar will be led by members of Plante & Moran's State and Local Tax Team from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 at Castle Farms in Charlevoix. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. A seminar also will be offered from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 8 at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City. Northwest Michigan Council of Governments will conduct a workshop on Siting Wind Energy Systems from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Boyne District Library in Boyne City. Cost is $10. Elected and appointed officials and others interested in local government can attend a Sunshine Laws Workshop, provided by Northwest Michigan Council of Governments and Michigan State University Extension. She will be responsible for home mortgages, refinancing and construction loan origination in both Grand Traverse and Leelanau County. She brings more than 12 years of mortgage banking experience to her new role.
