Wage act forum to be held June 27

TRAVERSE CITY — A forum on the state's Prevailing Wage Act will be held June 27 at the state offices on Elmwood Avenue in Traverse City from 1-4 p.m.

The workshop is designed for construction agents working with public school, community college and public university construction projects to explain their rights and responsibilities under the Prevailing Wage law. Sign-up information is available through Sue Shelton at the Department of Labor and Economic Growth's wage and hour division at (517) 335-0987.

The state also launched a new Web site that identifies contractors and subcontractors who have violated the state's Prevailing Wage Act. The listing is updated monthly and can be viewed at DLEG's Wage and Hour division site at www.michigan.gov/wagehour.
