Manitou Music Festival ready to get under way

GLEN ARBOR — The Manitou Music Festival presents summer concerts featuring a range of music.

Opening with Jonathan Edwards on Saturday (see related story »), the series continues with a free concert on Sunday, July 1. The Northport Community Band will perform patriotic music on the lawn of the Glen Arbor Athletic Club starting at 6 p.m.

The series continues with a show by singer-songwriter Trina Hamlin on July 11. Appearing in Glen Arbor, she'll go on the Studio Stage on Lake Street at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.

The annual free Dune Climb concert on Sunday, July 15, will feature members of Traverse Symphony Orchestra. An 18-piece brass ensemble will play starting at 7 p.m. at the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb in Glen Haven.

Bobby Yang and His Unrivaled Players are scheduled for an 8 p.m. concert at the Leelanau School on Thursday, July 19. Tickets are $15.

An Arts Collage is scheduled on the Studio Stage on Lake Street in Glen Arbor for Saturday, July 21, starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10.

A singer-songwriter concert featuring Dana Cooper and Ruth and Max Bloomquist is planned for Wednesday, July 25. Tickets to the 8 p.m. show on the Studio Stage are $12.

The Northwinds Trio offers a classical concert on Sunday, July 29. The venue is the Studio Stage, with showtime at 8 p.m. and tickets at $18.

Whit Hill and the Postcards give an alternative country concert on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 8 p.m. on the Studio Stage. Cost is $12.

A closing concert for the Port Oneida Fair will be held on the Studio Stage in Glen Arbor on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 7:30 p.m. Nobody's Darlin' is the featured act. Tickets are $15.

Jan Krist and Jim Bizer play at the Leelanau School on Thursday, Aug. 18. Tickets to the 8 p.m. performance are $12.

A Latin Jazz/Salsa concert is on tap Saturday, Aug. 18. Starting at 7:30 p.m., it will be on the Studio Stage, with tickets at $15.

Aiofe Clancy offers traditional Irish and folk music on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 8 p.m. The Studio Stage is the venue; tickets are $12.

Gabriel Bolkosky with Michele Cooker present a classical and jazz concert on Thursday, Aug. 30, at The Leelanau School. Tickets are $15. Showtime is 8 p.m.
