One-woman show, one time only

TRAVERSE CITY — The City Opera House presents DAI, a one-woman show written by and starring Iris Bahr, on Friday, June 29, at 8 p.m.

Currently running in New York, the single-role show has met with success featuring Bahr, Vanessa Redgrave and Ed Harris. "DAI” translated means "Enough.” The show features a cast of one and takes place in a cafe in Tel Aviv just moments before a suicide bomber strikes, making casualties of its 11 characters. In Traverse City, Bahr will portray all of those roles, a performance that led to her receiving an invitation to give a private presentation of "DAI” at the United Nations last month.

Bahr has served in the Israeli Army, written and published a memoir at age 20, studied neuropsychology at Stanford, conducted cancer research at Tel Aviv University and graduated from Brown University. Meanwhile, as an actor she has appeared on such series as "The Big Bang Theory,” "The Drew Carey Show,” "Star Trek,” "Friends,” "Commander in Chief” and "Curb Your Enthusiasm.” She is also a comedian, writer and actor.

Showtime is at 8 p.m. Reserved tickets are $30, available by calling the Opera House at (231) 941-8082 or by visiting www.cityoperahouse.org.
