Borland burns black at Streeters

Ex-Limp Bizkit guitarist has a new supergroup

TRAVERSE CITY — Ex-Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland will bring his new band, Black Light Burns, to Streeters in Traverse City for one show tonight, opening for rockers Chevelle.

The supergroup's forthcoming album, "Cruel Melody,” will be released June 5. It features Nine Inch Nails member Danny Lohner on bass.

The new band is a departure from the heavy party rock of Limp Bizkit, who Borland split from in 2001. He has had various other projects since.

The new album is released on the I Am: Wolfpack label.

Local rockers Commonfaced and Smyt will kick off the Streeters show. The doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 for those 18 and older.
