The obituary clerk may be reached directly at (231) 933-1470 for further information or to schedule an appointment if you wish to provide the obituary in person. Since all posted deaths must be verified, all requests for death notices and obituaries must be sent through a funeral home or accompanied by the name and phone number of a funeral home, mortuary or cremation center. Obituaries and death notices will not be published without confirmation of name of deceased and date of death. You may include photos in print at no extra charge, and a flag will also be included in print at no extra charge for veterans. While obituaries are paid for by the family, the Record-Eagle has established guidelines for style and content uniform with the rest of the newspaper, and we reserve the right to decline to publish anything that is not consistent with these standards. The text of all obituaries and death notices appearing in the Record-Eagle are also published on this Web site. |
