For the past 16 years, the Inland Seas Education Association has been working toward the permanent protection of the Great Lakes through the education of tomorrow's leaders, scientists and citizens.

Based in Suttons Bay, the schooner Inland Seas is described as a "floating classroom" stocked with the most up-to-date scientific equipment to allow students, families, organizations and school groups to study and appreciate the complex and fascinating Great Lakes ecosystem.

No longer limited by the seasons, or by the space on their tall ships, the organization's new "on land" education center holds a laboratory, teachers' resource center, boat shop, classrooms, a library and a public exhibition hall, providing year-round Great Lakes experiences in addition to those happening out on the water. Stop by the Inland Seas Education Center with your family, explore the facility, and learn more about the programs you can participate in together.
