MARIAN L. HASLETT DEROUIN, 80, formerly of Traverse City, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999.
      Arrangements are being handled by Gorsline-Runciman East Chapel in East Lansing.
     
      PATRICIA 'TRICIA' EASTERWOOD, 50, formerly of East Jordan, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at her home in Charlevoix.
      The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the funeral home.
     
      THEODORE A. LLOYD, 93, of Manistee, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999.
      Private family services have been held. Arrangements were handled by Johnson Funeral Home of Manistee.
     
      MELVIN J. MARSHALL, 89, of Grayling, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at his home. He was born Dec. 11, 1909.
      Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling. Arrangements are being handled by Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel of Grayling.
     
      NORMA E. PERRY, 88, of Manistee, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999.
      Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Manistee. The Johnson Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of arrangements.
     
      EDWIN S. STRZYZEWSKI, 77, of Manistee, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the Manistee Heights Care Center.
      Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee.
     
      Laura Elizabeth Titus Hilby
      Died November 29, 1999
      ALDEN - Laura Elizabeth Titus Hilby, 82, long time summer resident of Alden, daughter of Leo Titus and Leta Kuck Titus of Oakland, Calif., died Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
      A homemaker, Laura was also a student leader and vice president of the student body and gave the valedictory address to her class of 1939 at University of California at Berkeley, where she majored in philosophy. She was active in the Girl Scouts of America while living in St. Louis, Mo. and in Marks, Miss. She loved music, opera and theater. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. She worked to protect the environment as a member of the Nature Conservancy. While living in Marks, Miss. during the 1960's and 1970's, Laura was active in civic beautification projects and enjoyed gardening.
      She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Martin Hilby; a sister, Katherine Titus Kern of Clayton, Mo.; daughter, Lucy E. McArtor of Memphis, Tenn.; son, Bruce Hilby of Phoenix; and four grandchildren, Laura Anne McArtor Anderson, John Bradford McArtor, Anne Titus Hilby and Joseph Martin Hilby.
      Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Unitarian church, The Church of the River, where she was a member.
      In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to The Church of the River or a charity of the donor's choice.
      Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, Tenn.

      Arthur John Mattison
      Died November 30, 1999
      TRAVERSE CITY - Arthur John Mattison, 26, of Traverse City, died Tuesday at Mott's Childrens Hospital.
      Born Jan. 11, 1973, in Traverse City, he was the son of John Arthur Mattison and Natalie Jean (Lakies) Miller. God gave us 26 years with him and we are thankful we are blessed with his memories.
      Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his friends after work.
      He is survived by his mother, Natalie Jean (Anthony) Miller of Traverse City; father, John Arthur (Joyce) Mattison of Tennessee; sisters, Kristina (Terry) Bevelhymer of Interlochen, Kathryn (Eric) Gustavsom of Interlochen and Ellyn Mobly of Muskegon; brother, James Wendal Mattison of Muskegon; three nephews; one niece; and a stepgrandmother, Margaret Miller.
      He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
      Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Lipscomb officiating.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to Mott's Childrens Hospital.
     
      Hilda May (Gage) Schroeder
      Died November 24, 1999
      TRAVERSE CITY - Hilda May (Gage) Schroeder, 91, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully at Indian Trail AFC.
      In 1931 Hilda married Bill Schroeder of St. Charles, the town's athletics coach, teacher and principal. Hilda was thereafter active in the PTA, the athletics auxiliary and Methodist women's alter society, to name a few. Bill preceded her in death in 1971.
      Her two sons, Douglas and Kenneth, survive her, as do her daughter-in-laws Judy (Mansfield) and Sue (Castanier), and her five grandchildren, Wendy, Doug Jr., Jessica, Jason and Jennifer.
      Hilda lived her last years in Traverse City and remained quite active. She has enjoyed participating in the Generations Program operated by CMH and enrolled in the U of M's Cognitive Disorders Research Project through Munson when she arrived here. She has remained especially grateful for the fine care and help she received from George and Toi Warnick, owners and operators of the Indian Trail AFC here in Traverse City. "They have been wonderful"..."to the other ladies and me," she said many times. "Their skills in working with the elderly have been nothing but outstanding." She loved the beauty of Grand Traverse and the people she had come to know here.
      Hilda's memorial service was held at the St. Charles United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov. 27, conducted by pastor Kevin Harbin, with eulogies offered by her granddaughter Wendy and son Doug. She was buried at Riverside Cemetery of St. Charles.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Michigan.
      Arrangements were handled by Kendall Funeral Home in St. Charles.
     
      Carolyn M. Seman
      Died November 30, 1999
      WILLIAMSBURG - Carolyn M. Seman, 38, of Williamsburg, died Tuesday morning at home. Formerly of Livonia, she had been a resident of Williamsburg the past ten years.
      Born Nov. 11, 1961, in Dearborn, she was the daughter of Marion and Eleanor (Schoen) Jarosz. On July 27, 1985, in Livonia, she married Gregory D. Seman, who survives.
      A 1984 graduate of Western Michigan University, she received a bachelor of science degree in interior design. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme. For the past six years she participated in the Festival of Trees as a decorator and two years her trees won the People's Choice Award.
      She is also survived by four children, David G., Michael A., Michelle L. and Lynn M. - all at home; her parents, Marion and Eleanor Jarosz of Livonia; three sisters, Laurie (Steve) Berger of Milford, Catherine (John) Sims of South Lyon and Barbara Marino of South Lyon; one brother, Robert (Janice) Jarosz of Livonia; four nieces; and three nephews.
      Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Reynold-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme with the Rev. Edwin Thome serving as celebrant. Inurnment will take place in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to Carolyn M. Seman Memorial Fund in care of Bertha Vos PTO.
