DR. DOROTHY M. BAKER, 87, of Traverse City, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at Bortz Health Care.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
EARL L. KENNEDY, 91, of Central Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at the Birchwood Care Center in Marne. He was born April 5, 1908.
Graveside services will be held on Fathers Day, June 18, 2000, at Southern Cemetery in Central Lake Township. Arrangements by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortenson Funeral Homes.
LEWIS W. SLUYTER, 81, of Beulah and Arizona, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, in Arizona. He was born May 8, 1918.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blaine Township Cemetery.
GARY CLEMENT YOUNG, 64, of Kaleva, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Grove Township Cemetery.

Al Kazarian
Died November 13, 1999
PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Al Kazarian, 79, of Palm Harbor and formerly of Elk Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Fla. He was a summer resident of Elk Rapids since 1959 and moved here permanently upon his retirement in 1975.
Al served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was captain of the Highland Park Fire Department for 27 years, past treasurer of Highland Park Fire Fighters Union 355, and member of the Highland Park Fire and Police Retirees Association and VFW Post No. 147 of Livonia. He was past director of the Elk-Skegemog Lakes Association.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Irene; son, Richard (Kathleen) of Elk Rapids; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Kazarian of Torrance, Calif. and Kristen Kazarian of Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Cremation has taken place and internment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Elk Rapids.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

Henry A. LaBeau
Died December 11, 1999
EAST JORDAN - Henry A. LaBeau, 90, of Central Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at the Havencrest Foster Care Home in East Jordan.
Henry was born Feb. 26, 1909, in Trenton, the son of Jerome and Rose (Navarre) LaBeau. On Oct. 15, 1938, in Trenton, he married Dorothy Gabriel, who preceded him in death in 1974.
Henry resided in Empire for many years where he owned the Friendly Tavern and was chief of the Empire Fire Department. In 1954 he moved to Central Lake where he and his wife owned LaBeau's Grocery until 1968. In 1967 they built LaBeau's Dairy Freeze, retiring in 1974. He was active in the Central Lake community, serving on the school board and various organizations. He was a longtime member of St. Luke Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and was active in the church choir.
Surviving are three sons, Jerome C. (Deanna) and Robert A. (Diane) - both of Central Lake and James H. (Nancy) of East Jordan; eight grandchildren, Craig LaBeau and Kimberly (Cecil) Fernandez - both of Central Lake, Keith LaBeau of Orlando, Fla., Michael LaBeau and Christine Hoose - both of Central Lake, Darrell, Mark and Kurt LaBeau - all of East Jordan; a great-grandson, Bobby Hoose of Central Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were five brothers, Fred, Clarence, Archie, Harvey and Chestley; and a sister Beatrice Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, where a wake service will be held at 7.30 p.m. with Sr. Celine Goessl officiating. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire, Father Arockiasamy Arulandu will serve as celebrant. Burial will be in Southern Cemetery in Central Lake Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke Catholic Church.
Elizabeth M. Seaton
Died December 11, 1999
MANCELONA - Elizabeth M. Seaton, 81, of Mancelona and formerly of Echo Township, died Saturday at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Elizabeth was born July 10, 1918, in Jordan Township, the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Berzenwski) Weisler. On May 17, 1937, in East Jordan, she married Jesse J. Seaton, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Elizabeth resided in Echo Township most of her life and retired in 1981 from Wickes Manufacturing of East Jordan. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire, and the Torch Post VFW No. 6985 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Madaline (Eugene) Primrose of Mancelona and Florence (Frank) Bartholomew of East Jordan; four grandchildren, Cheryl (Dewain) Rohde of Mancelona, Debbie Desrochers, James (Carolyn) Barnett and Julie (James) Shivley - all of East Jordan; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Edward and Frederick Weisler; four sisters, Clara Hebden, Katherine Hebden, Mary Stanek and Anna McKenny; and a granddaughter, Sandra Barnett.
