      ROSE A. BUSSLER, 102, of East Jordan, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Cheboygan Health Care Center in Cheboygan.
      Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. when services will be held Thursday at Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. of East Jordan.
     
      JOHN F. 'JACK' RACZKOWSKI, 88, of Manistee, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Manistee County Medical Care Facility in Manistee.
      Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with evening prayers at 8 p.m. at Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee.
     
      Dr. Dorothy M. Baker
      Died December 10, 1999
      TRAVERSE CITY - Dorothy Muriel Baker, 87, a third generation physician, died Friday at Bortz Health Care.
      Born Sept. 11, 1911, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Dr. Arthur Leo and Mina A. (Cook) Baker. On Aug. 12, 1938, In Michigan she married Gordon F. Glair, D.D.S.
      Her professional experience included an internship at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon from 1938-39. She served as a physician at Newberry and Traverse City state hospitals from 1943-50, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tomah, Wis., from 1951-53, and as resident physician at Winter VA Hospital in Topeka, Kan., from 1953-55. Dorothy worked as a psychiatrist at Sheridan, Wyo., from 1955-56 and at Battle Creek from 1956-60. She was a staff psychologist at Mental Hygiene Clinic, VA Hospital, in Allen Park from 1960-74.
      Dorothy was a fellow of Menninger School of Psychiatry and a member of the American Psychiatric Assoc., the American Medical Assoc., the Michigan Society of Psychiatry and Neurology, and Alpha Epsilen Iota.
      In addition to being a physician, she was an artist, poet, lover of classical music and all the arts, swimmer, good friend and humanitarian.
      She spent most of her life in Traverse City and moved from Traverse City to Newberry and back. She retired from the Traverse City state hospital on Dec. 31, 1974.
      Survivors include her children, Allegra Lael of Grawn and John Baker of Grayling; three grandchildren, Jon M. Lunand Ben and Britini Baker; and a great-grandchild, Mika Noel Luland.
      She was preceded in death by her former husband, Gordon F. Glair, her parents, and a brother, Leo Arthur Baker.
      No services are planned at this time.
      Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City is in charge of arrangements.

      Jerome K. Barry
      Died December 13, 1999
      TRAVERSE CITY - Jerome K. Barry, 72, died Monday at Munson Medical Center.
      Born March 13, 1927, on the family farm in Livingston County, he was the son of Jerome and Leona (Croteau) Barry.
      Jerome served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University and graduated from law school at the University of Detroit. A longtime attorney, his law office was located in Clarkston. Jerome was a former resident of Pontiac and Waterford. He lived in Traverse City for the last ten years where he attended Immaculate Conception Church and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Cherryland Post No. 2180
      Survivors include eight children, three sisters, two brothers, and 23 grandchildren.
      Jerome was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Barry, on Jan. 27, 1990, a twin brother, James, a brother, Richard, a sister, Jeanie, and a grandson, Arthur.
      Cremation has taken place.
      A memorial Mass at Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes is being planned.
      Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Williamston.
      Memorials may be directed to Munson Medical Center.
      Arrangements are by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
     
      Margaret G. Boldt
      Died December 12, 1999
      TRAVERSE CITY - Margaret G. Boldt, 94, of Traverse City, died Sunday at the home of her daughter.
      Born Oct. 8, 1905 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Michael and Rose (Brezina) Malucky. On Aug. 11, 1926, in Cleveland, she married Herbert G. Boldt who preceded her in death in 1973. She was also preceded in death by two sisters.
      Margaret was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a former member of the Traverse City Senior Center.
      Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Sullivan of Traverse City, a son, Herbert (Mary) Boldt of East Tawas, 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
      Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City; a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
      A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church; Father William Lipscomb will serve as celebrant.
      Burial will be in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
      Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Hospital Hospice in Tawas City.
     
      T. Chad Buhlman
      Died December 11, 1999
      WEST BRANCH - T. Chad Buhlman, 29, of West Branch, passed away Saturday at his home.
      Chad had lived in West Branch for all his life and attended Ogemaw Heights High School.
      His is survived by his mother, Judy Buhlman (Steve McLean) of Mesick; father, Gerald Buhlman (Ruth Arellano) of West Branch; three brothers, Todd Buhlman and Tim (Deborah) Buhlman - both of West Branch, and Thomas (Kimberly) Buhlman of Rose City; two sisters, Tami Buhlman of Tawas City and Tressa (Robert) Augustine of Brighton; his grandmother, Dorothy Noffsinger of West Branch; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
      Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch; a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
      The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home; Father Richard Seifferly will officiate.

      Patricia A. 'Pat' Wolff
      Died December 12, 1999
      ELMWOOD TOWNSHIP - Patricia A. "Pat" Wolff, 74, of Elmwood Township, died Sunday at her home.
      Born Oct. 29, 1925, in Bluffton, Ind., she was the daughter of Glenn Cole (Spec) and Chella (Welsh) Kasler. In 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, she married Gene Wolff who preceded her in death in 1992.
      Pat grew up in Frankfort, Ind., during the Depression. Her father was a railroad man and former boxer; her mother was a homemaker and the driving force in encouraging Pat to study music. In 1940, at the age of 14, she joined an all-girl big band and toured the United States during and after World War II. Pat wrote of her experiences on the road in her recently published memoir, "I Ran Away With An All-Girl Band."
      While on tour in Ohio, she met and fell in love with a tenor sax player from Detroit. After a brief cross-country courtship, Gene and Pat married and eventually settled in Traverse City. Gene worked for a steel company and continued to play in local jazz combos including the Dave Sporney Big Band.
      Pat hung up her horn to raise her three children but continued to lead a very creative life that included skiing, car racing, printmaking, painting, metalsmithing and owning her own art gallery. In recent years she concentrated on watercolors and writing and was an active member of the Grand Traverse Writers Group where chapters from her book were first read. She completed her manuscript while in hospice and led a remarkably active life until the end - painting, listening to live music, attending writers group meetings at Horizon Books and visiting with her grandchildren.
      Surviving are her sisters, Sue Kasler Clark of Cazedero, Calif., and Phyllis Kasler of Redwood Valley, Calif.; her brother, Joseph Kasler of Richland, Wash.; her children, Lisa (Robert) Michels of Harbor Springs, Paul (Anita) Wolff of Woodbridge, Va., and Glenn Wolff (Carole Simon) of Traverse City; and seven grandchildren, Allison, Christopher, and Katherine Michels of Harbor Springs, Brittney Wolff and J.R. Niemi of Woodbridge, Va., and Elizabeth and Sarah Wolff of Traverse City.
      Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a time of sharing at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City.
      Memorial contributions may be sent to Munson Hospice or the Patricia and Gene Wolff Memorial Scholarship Fund at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City. A memorial jazz concert in Pat's honor to benefit the scholarship fund is planned for after the holidays. A date and location will be announced.
