Obituaries
GORDON ARMSTRONG, SR., 55, of Detroit and formerly of Grayling, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, in Mt. Clemens. He was born June 30, 1944.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel in Grayling. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
DANIEL JOSEPH BOONE, 90, of Traverse City, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Boone and a brother, Albert H. Boone.
MILDRED M. RICHARDS, 77, of East Jordan and formerly of Drayton Plains, died Monday, Nov. 8, at Charlevoix Area Hospital.
The family will receive friends beginning at noon Saturday at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. of East Jordan. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
PETER J. ROSKOWSKI, 75, of Manistee, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Manistee County Medical Care Facility.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with evening prayers being prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Burial and graveside military services will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, also in Manistee.
HELEN MARIE TURNER, 73, of Traverse City, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 9, 1999, at her home.
Arrangements are pending at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
Lucy B. Devine
Died November 6, 1999
SIGNAL MT., Tenn. - Lucy B. Devine, 99, of Signal Mt., Tenn. died Saturday at Alexian Health Care Center.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, she was a school teacher for 40 years and a school principal for 17 years for the Detroit Board of Education. She was a member of the Catholic church and has been a resident of Alexian Village for the past 16 years.
She is survived by one half sister, Margarita Curtis of New York City; two half brothers, Alfred Castor Boulton of New York City and William Boulton of Mobile, Ala.; and two nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services today at Alexian Village Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:15 a.m. today at the chapel with Father G. William Fischer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Ethel Mary Weber
Died November 8, 1999
TRAVERSE CITY - Ethel Mary Weber, 83, of Traverse City, died Monday at her home.
Born Jan. 1, 1916, in Manchester, she was the daughter of Arthur D. and Anna Mary (Feldcamp) Burch. On Oct. 23, 1948, in West Unity, Ohio, she married Shirley H. Weber.
Ethel formerly resided in Bellaire and Kalamazoo prior to moving to Traverse City. While living in Kalamazoo, she was a member and former president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Red Arrow Post No. 1527.
She is survived by her husband, Shirley H. Weber, of Traverse City; a daughter, Mary Anne Willis of Constantine; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home of Traverse City.
