Obituaries
ELIZABETH M. BEALS, 72, of Alden, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. A full obituary will be in Sunday's edition of the Record-Eagle.
Funeral services for ARLENE BLOCK were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. No services are scheduled for today.
FRED EDWARD KROLIKOWSKI, 74, of Graying, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at his home.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be held in the spring in Evergreen Park, Ill. Arrangements are being handled by Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel, Grayling.
WALDO JAY SAWADE, 61, of Frederic, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 29, 1938.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Monday at Sorenson Funeral Home, McEvers Chapel in Grayling. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Frederic.
Kenneth Joseph Kewagshken
Died November 10, 1999
TRAVERSE CITY - Kenneth Joseph Kewagshken, 44, of Traverse City, died Wednesday.
Born May 15, 1955, in Jackson, he was the son of Hersel and Betty (John) Kewagshken. Kenneth resided in Chicago prior to moving to Traverse City in 1996.
Kenneth worked at a variety of manufacturing and construction jobs. He was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and enjoyed many native American cultural arts.
He is survived by three children, Jessie, Jeannine and Cletus - all at home; his mother, Betty Kewagshken of Traverse City; a brother, Ronald (Tallie) Kewagshken of Marquette; a sister, Anna (Gary) Smith of Charlevoix; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hersel; and all his grandparents.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Sam McClellan officiating.

Olive Irene Wieland
Died November 11, 1999
SUTTONS BAY - Olive Irene Wieland, 87, of Suttons Bay, passed away Thursday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born April 20, 1912, in Eagle, she was the daughter of Arthur and Blanch Wilson. On June 24, 1963, she married Durfee Wieland.
Olive graduated from Ithaca High School in 1919 and Gratiot County Normal. She taught school in Gratiot County for several years and retired from Dow Chemical Company after 25 years of service. Olive was a member of the Suttons Bay Congregational Church. She enjoyed camping, traveling and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Durfee; stepson, Joe Wieland; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Wieland; grandchildren, Trevor Wieland, Jodi Thomas and Leslie Gallagher; four great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Bell of Mayer, Ariz.; brother, DeWayne (Jennie) Wilson of Kalkaska; brother-in-law, Arthur Ayers of Rivendale; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wilson of Perriton; seven nieces and nephews; and special friends Rev. Jim and Margaret Beadle and Jane and Carrol Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha; and brother Lowell.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Estes-Leadley Funeral Home in Lansing. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Suttons Bay Congregational Church.
