      MILDRED M. (KRAUS) CHAMBERLIN, 80, of Traverse City, died Monday morning, Nov. 15, 1999, at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City.
      Arrangements are pending at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
     
      ALLERD H. RITZ, 69, of Wellston, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999 at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.
      Arrangements were handled by Terwilliger Funeral Home of Kaleva.
     
      JOAN M. SPRAGUE, 65, of Rapid City, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at her home. She was born May 19, 1934.
      Private family services will be held Wednesday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
     
      BETTY WEISS, 77, of Traverse City, formerly of Fife Lake, died Monday morning, Nov. 15, 1999, at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City. She was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Silverwood.
      Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fife Lake Cemetery in Fife Lake.

      David W. 'Dave' Edwards
      Died November 14, 1999
      OMENA - David W. "Dave" Edwards, 74, died Sunday afternoon at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Dave was born Jan. 12, 1925, in East Greenville, Ohio, to David W. and Jenny (Bloom) Edwards. On March 10, 1943, he married Jeanne Anne Simon who preceded him in death in 1983.
      Dave was a veteran of World War II. A member of the 790th Bombing Squadron, he served as a tailgunner. A tool-and-die maker who had retired from Trylon, Dave had been a resident of Northern Michigan since 1955. He was a former resident of Massilon, Ohio. He enjoyed playing euchre, going to the casinos, hunting and fishing.
      On Aug. 17, 1985, Dave married Betty Jane Bailey who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Judith Battle of Shreveport, La., Linda (William) Valleau, Kristee (Wade) Mariage, Jan (Alistair) Bediker - all of Traverse City, and Lorrie (Ken) Porte of Carlsbad, Calif.; three sons, David E. of Detroit, Thomas (Sara) of Owosso, and Vincent (Jill) of Escondido, Calif.; four step daughters, Cindy Bailey of Suttons Bay, Phyllis Rice of Traverse City, June Bailey of Suttons Bay, and Pauline (Tim) Koon of Interlochen; five step sons, Hank Bailey of Lake Leelanau, Joseph "Buddy" (Judy) Raphael of Suttons Bay, Randy (Mary) Bailey of Benzonia, Scott (Becky) Bailey of Orlando, Fla., and George (Marty) Bailey of Benzonia; three sisters, Charlotte "Sis" Copeland of Dearborn, Grayce Nye of Frankfort, and Leona (David) Moross of Sanford; one brother, Robert (Terry) Edwards of Jacksonville, Fla.; 37 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
      Dave was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ken, Tom and Norman Edwards.
      Friends may meet the family from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home; the Rev. Marshall Collins will officiate.
      Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens with full military honors under the auspices of Traverse City Veterans of Foreign Wars Cherryland Post No. 2780.
      Memorials may be directed to VFW Post No. 2780.

      Paul A. Ferrall
      Died November 14, 1999
      TRAVERSE CITY - Paul A. Ferrall, 89, died Sunday at Grand Rapids Veterans Home.
      Born Jan. 6, 1910, in Ohio, he was the son of Charles and Lora (Kraft) Ferrall. He married his wife, Neva, in Lima, Ohio; she preceded him in death in 1986.
      Paul lived in Traverse City for most of his life. A veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster on Oct. 10, 1944; he was also awarded a service medal with five Bronze Stars. Paul was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Cherryland Post No. 2780. He was also a life member of Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post No. 63 of Ottowa, Ohio. Paul was an avid outdoor sportsman.
      Friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
      Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens with full military honors under the auspices of VFW Post No. 2780.
      Memorials may be directed to the Paul Ferrall Memorial Fund.
